Q: What is an Education Foundation?
A: An Education Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization of citizens that work s to increase private support for educational activities. Q: What is an Academic Recognition Banquet?
A:  The Academic Recognition Banquet is an event that honors top graduating seniors, and in turn those seniors honor a teacher, in the district, that has made an impact on their life. Table sponsors are asked to sponsor a student and teacher at a designated cost. Funds are raised to award innovative teaching grants.

Q: What is an Annual Golf Tournament?
A: The Annual Golf Tournament is held on the 3rd Monday in June of every year at Walnut Creek Country Club. There are a variety of sponsorships available. Funds are raised to award innovative teaching grants.

One of the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation’s most successful fund raising events is the Annual Golf Tournament, which provides an opportunity to mix business with pleasure as we come together with sponsors and supporters. Without the generous support of our many donors and sponsors, none of this would be possible. Your support allows us to find new ways of keeping our schools on the cutting edge and preparing for the future.

Q: What is the Grant Patrol?
A:  The “Grant Patrol” runs over a two-day span in the fall and in the spring. This is the time that the foundation awards innovative teaching grants to MISD teachers. Members of the community as well as school administrators and trustees join foundation directors in surprising teachers in their classroom with their award.  More about grants...

Q: How Do I Become a Board Member?
A: The Foundation board interviews prospective board members in May of
each year. A board member has the responsibility of cooperatively working with the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees and administration toward fulfilling the long-range and short-range goals and objectives of the District. Foundation board members should have a genuine interest in the mission and goals of the foundation and be willing to use their time, influence and specialized or professional knowledge for the benefit of the students and staff who will be supported through the foundation’s work. If you are interested in becoming a board member please e-mail

Q: What is the responsibility of a volunteer?
A: A volunteer is responsible for aiding board members in projects that are going on during the school year. Volunteers can help with the Academic Banquet, the Golf Tournament and Reading Grants. Opportunities for volunteers include:
  1. Reading grants in the fall and spring
  2. Academic Recognition Banquet committee
  3. Golf tournament committee
  4. Special Events (ask for details)

A: Charitable giving to the MISD Education Foundation is a great way to help Mansfield ISD retain excellent teacher and develop well-educated students.

What if something happens to you? Would you want to leave anything to any charitable organization? The Mansfield ISD Education Foundation could be your charity of choice. Gift planning can help you make charitable gifts from your estate while receiving financial benefits for yourself. You can do this either through a charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, or gift annuity. There are rules to follow, so consult your tax advisor.  More info...
